Information and purpose
We collect contact details, enquiry text and engagement correspondence to answer requests, prepare estimates, perform contracted inspections, maintain a defensible engagement record, issue invoices and meet legal duties. Funding records may contain personal information about owners, employees or counterparties; clients must share only what is necessary and lawful.
Legal basis and sharing
Processing relies on consent for optional analytics, steps toward and performance of a contract, legal obligations, and legitimate interests in security and professional record keeping. Access is limited to authorised reviewers and service providers bound by confidentiality. We may disclose information where South African law compels us.
Retention and security
Unsuccessful enquiries are normally deleted after 12 months. Engagement files are generally retained for seven years after closure unless law, dispute or the engagement letter requires longer. We use access controls, secure transfer methods and documented disposal, but no transmission is risk-free.
International transfers
Our primary work is conducted in South Africa. If a contracted communications or storage provider processes data abroad, we use contractual and organisational safeguards intended to provide protection consistent with POPIA.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection, and may withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. You may complain to South Africa’s Information Regulator. We may verify identity before acting on a request.
